Fire Alarm Clock

At 8:30 we were a woken to what sounded like people shooting glassware with pistols in the next.  I jolted out of bed but thought it was someone watching a gangster movie until T came out of his room and said there was a fire and that sound was the NYFD smashing out windows.

This picture was taken when the fire was relatively small and eventually it spread and started burning in the appt. directly above.  B & T tried to leave the house but there were medics, firemen, and bodies outside the door.  We had nothing to do but sit and watch as the fire got bigger and be shaken.  

All of us still have our shoes on, ready to flee but they got the fire out, and we figure if the people on that floor are still hanging out their balconies we are OK.  Plus, we are one floor down so the smoke won't be coming down to us, especially with 15 stories of windows busted out.

So much for waking up at 10.  Hope everyone is alright.
